About

The Division of Health Policy and Public Health focuses on major attributes of health policy development and practice application.  The Division was founded in 2012 (originally as the Division of Health Policy Translation). The goal is to be a national leader in health services research, evaluating and influencing policies that affect the way we care for patients on a broad scale.

Mission 

To be amongst the preeminent EM health policy entities in the country, conducting research, advocacy and innovation that is impactful and relevant to affect policy changes. We also aim to provide exceptional training for our fellows, obtain grant funding and assist faculty with maximizing academic productivity by encouraging mentorship and collaboration.

Vision 

The Division of Health Policy and Public Health in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital will foster and support innovation in health care policy research and analysis, and seek to translate evidence into policy and practice to improve the quality, effectiveness, equity and value of healthcare.
